Mat Pilates
Practicing Mat Pilates helps build a strong, balanced body and increases flexibility. As you progress in your practice you will notice improvements in breathing, focus, stress management, and body awareness. Mat Pilates is perfect for beginners because you only need your own body, a mat, and some floor space to start. Our classes have a strong focus on strength and stretch, working with the breath to increase our range of movement and provide a balanced practice.
If you suffer from non-specific back pain, tight hamstrings (upper legs), stiff hip joints, and/or tense shoulders - Mat Pilates may provide the key to reducing pain and allowing you to move more freely.
Class sizes are small for your comfort and to allow individual progression, we have a choice of morning and evening classes, beginner, gentle or a little more advance.

Yoga
At the Workshop we offer Slow Flow Yoga and Yin Yoga.
. In a typical Slow Flow class, you will practice about half the number of poses you might practice in a Flow class. The pace is meditative, emphasizing peace and calm in body and mind. We hold poses longer, taking several rounds of breath in each pose, instead of moving to each breath.
Yin Classes feature a series of longer-held stretches, releasing muscle and connective tissues, through regular practice we can train the body to release tension, thereby increasing our mobility and flexibility.
There is no right or wrong pose, simply your individual body coming into the shape in your unique way.
The emphasis in my classes is Yoga which fits your body, a practice for everyone. My Yoga classes are not spiritual - my philosophy is based on encouraging you to listen to your body and move accordingly.

PiYo
Our PiYo class is a fusion of Mat Pilates and Yoga.
We take the best of Mat Pilates and combine it with the best standing Yoga poses, giving the strengthening benefits of Pilates with the flexibility-enhancing effects of Yoga.
PiYo is a low-impact exercise that doesn’t involve jumping, which lowers your risk of soft-tissue injuries such as sprains, strains, and bruises.
Classes are challenging and progressive - if you love your Pilates and Yoga, you will enjoy the best of both practices with PiYo.

Power Pilates
Power Pilates is similar to traditional Pilates exercises but with more controlled movements, intensity, and variations. It sometimes involves incorporating weights, bands, sliders, rollers, and balls with regular mat Pilates exercises.
Our Power Pilates classes are set to music, we work Tabata format, with 20 secs on / 10-sec rest.
Whilst this is a faster-paced class we are still observing the alignment principles of mat Pilates.
Perfect for those who like to get a sweat on, while still getting an amazing stretch, strength and tone workout.
